The purpose of the Pell City Amateur Radio Club is to afford interested students at Pell City High School the opportunity to discover the world of science, math, geography, computer science, natural science, and radio by becoming a licensed Amateur Radio Operator.  The PCHS Amateur Radio program is sponsored by the Coosa Valley Amateur Radio Association.


Support has been provide to the club by the Pell City Rotary Club, the Trotter Foundation, Royal Sausage Company, the Amateur Radio Relay League, Alpha Technical Services, and a number of individuals in the local area.


The Pell City High School Amateur Radio Club has a modern, up-to-date, amateur radio station that provides access to all areas of the spectrum available to amateur radio operators.  The stations support High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF), and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) equipment that can communicate using a variety of radio modes.  The radios interconnect with computers, internet, using digital and analog modes.


The Clubs encourages its members to strive to achieve a high level of proficiency as they operate  on the air.


The program is open to all students at Pell City High School
